Mimi started to follow courses at the Art School in Lingen/Germany during the 90’s. She participated in group exhibitions. In 2000 she moved to Fuerteventura, the island that gave her “goose bumps at first sight”. Since then Mimi transformed into a more extrovert and very creative person. She has organised many exhibitions on the island and enjoys a wide spread recognition for her paintings. Many local exhibitions have been organised for her art. Mimi describes her art as “a non-figurative expression on canvas of my thoughts & feelings”. Her style and her choice of colours are empowered by her impressions of the elements on the island: the rounded forms of the local mountains, the play of lights and shades, the colours of the surrounding area, the winds and the peaceful silence.
