Garden centre Happy Plants opened it’s doors in June 2005 with a small selection of plants. Now the garden centre is 10.000 m2 with a large variety of cacti, palms, trees, climbers, plants, medicinal plants, fruit plants, plant-pots and imported Dutch substrate.
We produce and stock resistant and strong plants
Our goal is to experiment with new plants in the sometimes harsh climate of Fuerteventura. Happy Plants is located in Tefia where the weather conditions can be extreme, therefor we only produce and stock resistant and strong plants.
It is important to match the right plant for different areas in a garden. Aspects of light and shade, soil requirements, screening for privacy, wind-protection etc. have to be considered in the unique climate of Fuerteventura. Happy Plants can advise on the right kind of planting, inland/coastal gardens, for containers, pool and terrace areas.
Some plants have an aggressive root system, grow slow/fast, need shadow/full sun, etc. Together with you we will make a plan for your garden to be able to put your favorite plants in the best position to create a beautiful place. With the purchase of your plants with Happy Plants our garden advice will be free of charge.
Your purchase doesn’t fit in your car? We will deliver your goods for free when you live within 60 km of garden centre Happy Plants and you have spent €250,00 or more.
You live further than 60 km, please feel free to ask for a solution how to transport your purchase to your home.
Happy Plants puts you in touch with garden professionals who assist you with the creation of your garden. They can look after all aspects of a garden from initial planning to irrigation, soil enrichment, mechanised precision digging and final finishes of pícon and/or gravel.
Garden centre Happy Plants is located about 300 metres north of the small town Tefia. You can easily find us when you are driving along the FV-207. Look out for the VW Transporter, which is parked near the entrance road. Turn in at the VW Transporter, drive along this road for another 350 metres, on the righthand side you will find the entrance to the garden centre.

Garden centre Happy Plants has been producing and investigating plants more intense since 2009, when we met our dear friend the botanist Paco. Due to his knowledge and experience of more than 40 years with plants from all over the world, sharing his botanic secrets with us, Garden centre Happy Plants is getting near to perfection in the production of plants.
We find different species, propagate them, plant them in our full ground, watch their behaviour for around 1 year to see if the plant can survive in Fuerteventura's weather conditions, soil & water. If so, we will start producing the plants and will be able to present the plant the year after. It’s a long process but it is the only way to be sure of strong plant species.
